Xmas

Christmas time is always a little stressful for those of us without a large surplus of cash. Looking to Christmas means I need to find presents for everyone, not to mention Shannon's birthday is in early January and our 6 month anniversary. Saweet.

On another note, I will get to spend a good amount of time at home with my family and will actually get to see Shannon for a bit of that. Not to mention Andy and Steve will both be home and we're going to get together to celebrate Andy and Courtney's recent engagement. So good times will be had by all.

Notre Dame received a less controversial than expected BCS bowl game this year. They'll matchup with Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 2nd. I couldn't be more excited for this game. As much as i'd love to see OSU end up getting killed, everyone knows that it won't be that way. I believe this will be a much better game then the Rose Bowl matchup. I'm sorry folks, but Texas will have to play on a different level to keep up with the Trojans. I'm almost exhausted from arguing with people about the BCS series, and I swear if one more Oregon fan claims to be shafted by the Irish, I might stab a bitch. It's rid-god-damn-diculous to say that a team that opened up it's season against the likes of Montana and Houston would be deserving of any major bid. You're in the god-damn Pac-10. Join the SEC, ACC, or Big Ten and maybe I'll buy that your conference schedule is deserving. Your one loss is to USC? Holy crap! That's amazing! Try WINNING that game and winning your conference and you'll end up in the BCS game. Instead, travel to the Holiday Bowl and prepare to get trounced by a much, much better Oklahoma team.

In other news, my body is trying to get me sick, yet I'm having none of that. I kicked the flu in the face and called it a pussy. Screw flu shots.

I hate you BCS and Keith Jackson

I'm reluctantly posting my rant about the football season because it has been so enjoyable, but now that the Irish are most likely going to be getting a BCS bid I will come out of the woods on this. I've gotten in multiple discussions with people on whether or not the Irish deserve a BCS bid over Oregon or Ohio State, even Auburn and Virginia Tech. There are many underlying issues that people seem to miss with their blind hatred of Notre Dame. The biggest opponent this year seems to be the ND schedule. The team that was projected to go 7-4 at best, 4-7 at the worst, has pulled what would have been unbelievable at season's beginning. To go 9-2 and be two plays from being undefeated is a good season nonetheless; but ND haters seem to miss the point that EVERYONE hates them. This includes incoming football players. It is a rivalry game every week for the Irish, so not only did they play against preseason 1, 3, 4, 15, and 25 but they also play the equivalent of Michigan's Ohio State, Texas's Oklahoma, Florida State's Miami, Army's Navy, USC's well...Notre Dame. To call the Irish a soft team would be declaring that a team that beat up on every team that came across their path was attempting to be someone else. Give Leinart and Bush or Stanton and Trannon a call and ask them if Notre Dame is soft this year. Better yet, ask USC who they'd rather play again...ND or Oregon. Let me give you a hint, it's not the team with Hi-Liter jerseys. It's probably the team that gave the country the best game this year, and definitely one of the top games this century.

So do me a favor, all of you proponents for ND playing in a non-BCS game, did you win your division? If so, congrats, you did what you are required to do to play in a BCS game. If you did not, then pull up your skirt and realize you fell short where you shouldn't have. Quit playing San Diego State and Miami of Ohio and D1-AA Montana and Houston and try starting off with Pittsburgh and Michigan on the ROAD. We'll see you all on the road to the championship next year.

BTW, if you think you hate Notre Dame, try stepping up to the plate of Keith Jackson. I love this guy when he does any game besides Notre Dame. Even Bob Davie is more impartial than Old Man River is when it comes to the Irish.

Big Boy Pants

Is it bad that I feel like I'm suddenly maturing because I have an active checking account after 3 years without one? Personally, it makes me feel like I'm getting my shit together, even though it probably seems so trivial to most people. Here's a hint, try going 3 years without a checking account. It sucks, a lot.

Congrats to my sister on turning 16, welcome to the rest of your life. Get ready to be punished emotionally like you never knew. PHS did that to me, and I would expect it to make no exceptions for you. I'll always be here when you need me. :)

Thanksgiving weekend for the 2nd year in a row will be sans the rest of the Valle clan. Last year, thanks to a wonderful snow storm, I ended up at Fratty's parents' place for a very nice dinner and this year should be no different than last year. Thanksgiving with Shannon and her family won't be able to replace spending it with Henry and Sue along with the rest, but it'll have to do until Christmas.

On one last note; I love the holidays. Snow, Eggnog, Vacation time, Family, what more could you ask for? Take that, chew it, its delicious.

Bad People Anger Me

This weekend was pretty fun, minus one major event that angers Ryan. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry. Friday was a good time, I got sufficiently drunk with Jordan, one of the new guys at work. Big football guy from Texas, so there have already been some good conversations in regards to football. Good stuff. Saturday night, great time with Shannon, a few of her friends and myself and a few of my friends. Everything was peachy until we got ready to leave and Shannon couldn't find her purse. After looking throughout the bar we decided that someone most likely took it by accident. We were not in a dive bar, so everyone found it hard to believe that someone would steal it. For those of you who don't know Shannon, she's a very quiet, reserved type person and she doesn't get emotionally rattled. Unfortunately for her, my keys were in her purse which upset her greatly; even though it was not her fault. Fast foward to last night, I've gotten into my apartment and she is waiting for the bar to open so that she can double check that she didn't hide it in a trash can or something along those lines. She found out that whoever had taken her purse had been using her Corporate CC, debit card, cell phone, and who knows what else. Regardless Shannon is crushed emotionally between being upset, scared, and pissed. This is the last thing she needs on her plate right now the major pain in the ass that accompanies having to get everything in your life replaced. I'm crushed for her, especially with the prospect of her getting yelled at at work for not finishing a company review. This all makes me very very angry and normally I'm not a violent person, mainly because I've been too skinny in the past, but now I really want to break someone for hurting someone so kind and easy-going. These assclowns deserve to have their balls chopped off and fed back to them.

Alcohol

Oh how i miss thee. I hadn't drank in chicago in a while considering i'm dirt poor. So last night, Shannon and I had a few cocktails before receeding to our respective beds. Boy, was that nice. I drank like a 16 year old that cracks open that 6 pack of The Beast when his parents go to dinner. I told shannon i was tying one on; and I did not disappoint.

On another note, it's cold. Really cold. And its only the beginning. I knew what I was getting myself into when i got started.

Livejournal, blah...

In attempt to be more efficient in upgrading my life to all 6 of you that pay attention, I've decided that this site is much easier and quicker to navigate. Seeing as how our OrderEntry system (the famed Oracle) went down like a few of my exgirlfriends on any guy with money, we're slammed today at work. Expect a rant on how freezing it was this morning.
